Audi RS5 Venice | tribute to Dogtown and Z-Boys

Our director Marc Schölermann directed Audi RS5, enacted together with agency, loved, for a very special editorial project that is reminiscent of the legendary documentary "Dogtown & Z-Boys".

The film by Stacy Peralta, who should still be known by former skaters, portrays the ascent and career of the California Skate Team Z-Boys in early 70s.

Audi was filmed and photographed on location near Venice Beach, with the agency, loved, along with our director Marc Schölermann.

And they had a few of the skaters skating in front of the camera: including Jesse Martinez, the youngest of the Z-Boys.

"We liked the theme of skateboarding immediately. It puts as freedom and independence, but also precision and dynamics within," says Michael Finke, Head of Advertising Sales and Media at Audi.

"If you have an affinity for sport itself, one can only admire the guys."

The connotations for RS5 Cabrio will accomplish the company over the visual language and the contents.

"The film is daring and one is amazed when you see the images", says Finke. The film suits the car, "edgy, progressive car, edgy, progressive content".

At least shot with a Super-8 camera film is worth seeing anyway.
